Robert Rodriguez took to the stage Tuesday night at South By South West Film Festival to announce several new projects for his Quick Draw Productions, including talk about Machete 2 and Sin City 2.
Rodriguez is set to launch a new animation company called Quickdraw Animation, with two feature-film projects already in the works, as well as a filmmaking contest in partnership with his technology partner AMD. The first two animated films will be Heavy Metal and a family film.
Rodriguez also says that Machete 2 starts shooting in April and Sin City 2, is likely to begin production over the summer. He still is being quiet on casting but did say stars of both projects will be of the same caliber and eclecticism as the first films, which featured Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Josh Hartnett, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal.
So with several teasings about start dates for Sin City 2, do you think the long delayed movie will finally go into production this year? I think there is still an audience waiting for this movie so here's hoping filming does begin come summer time. There's a lot more from Rodriguez and what he shared at SXSW so hit the link below to read more.
