As far as this series goes, this has been the least action packed of all the issues thus far. When reading issue 12, the one thing you will certainly find is that you can blaze through the minimal wording quite quickly, though you should stay and linger longer on the amazing artwork.
Each two page spread in this issue contains four boxes with smaller pictures and some words in them, while there is a larger picture inset in the background. This is kind of what I would call a recap issue, though the whole feel of it plays off more like a movie trailer. If you were to ask me what has happened in the first eleven issues of Kingdom of Monsters, I would suggest you read this to have a brief overview, though the issues themselves certainly should not be discredited.
While nothing really happened in this issue, I would argue that the artwork justifies my reading it. The images here within aren’t just that of random places during every day life, oh no, these are displays of what the world has come to since Godzilla and his friends have run wild. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for post apocalyptic matter and as far as all that goes this ranks right up there with the best of them. The mere fact that this also happens to be a post apocalypse by way of kaiju just makes it all that more fulfilling for me.
