A GOOD OLD FASHIONED ORGY is the funniest movie I've seen in 2011 and I can tell you I've already revisited this comedy three times now. It's an all-star comedy classic in the making, trust me!
The movie has an all-star cast that includes Jason Sudeikis from SNL, Leslie Bibb, Lake Bell, Michelle Borth, Nick Kroll , Tyler Labine (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Reaper, Ticker & Dale Vs. Evil), Angela Sarafyan, Lindsay Sloane , Martin Starr (Knocked Up, Superbad), Lucy Punch (Bad Teacher, Dinner with Schmucks) and Will Forte who joins his SNL co-star for a hilarious and raunchy ride that definitely lives up to its name. Oh and we get plenty of cameos too!
We follow a group of friends who have one last opportunity to have a wild party in a house that has been put up for sale by Sudeikis' character Eric's father played by Don Johnson. The planning stage begins and hilarious hurdles follow including a realtor with a few secrets played perfectly by the always awesome Lin Shaye, a place called Fred's Beds, a swimming pool and even a cow. Along with Shaye is her realtor partner played by Bibb who has really turned it up a notch for this movie. Sudeikis and Bibb have great chemistry and it shows. Tyler Labine is always someone to watch in any role he does and he gets to run wild in this one. Each character is completely different from the next which makes this comedy so complete. The story is original and really very funny. Watching our group get into these situations is a blast and a real treat plus there's plenty of eye candy to go along with these situations! What ultimately happens is jsut what the title says, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy!
Sudeikis now shows he can take the sole lead in a movie and deliver. Leslie Bibb needs more roles because she is as cute and funny as she is sexy. Tyler Labine can also pull off a lead role and deserves the opportunity to do so. Forte is allowed to just do his thing in a more of a supporting role but this guy is always funny!Actually, the entire cast of this movie is just perfect.
Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck who wrote and directed the movie have delivered a comedy classic! Hats off to these two guys and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Bottom line is if you love feel good, party movies like American Pie, Old School, and even the classic Animal House then A Good Old Fashioned Orgy is one you can't miss! This movie will become a comedy classic! The DVD dropped on 12/27 so go get it and enjoy! You can also check it out on VOD. 4.5/5
