We just finished sharing writer Damon Lindelof's comments on the Star Trek sequel firing up and now we get to share some of his comments on PROMETHEUS. Dig on the new image that definitely has "some kind of influence" in it.
First he talks about finishing up on Lost a few years back thinking he was done with the shadowy, secretive story telling for a while. He comments on jumping right back in with the story for Cowboys and Aliens, Star Trek and now Prometheus.
“Coming out of ‘Lost,’ I was like, What a relief it’ll be to leave mystery and secretiveness behind. Then I found myself in the same situation, and I thought, Here we go again."Everyone still denies that Prometheus is a prequel to Alien. Lindelof shares his comparison between the two films;
"What the two do have in common, is that the universe in which each takes place shares a similar aesthetic."He compares the epic scale of Prometheus to Lawrence of Arabia, finishing up with this;
“The movie is definitely epic in its scope. One of the filmmakers that we ended up talking about to a fair degree of redundancy was David Lean, who directed ‘Lawrence of Arabia. We wanted to make the movie feel big by having the characters be small in big spaces. That connected to the larger themes we were talking about — that we’re all just these little gnats crawling around on our little planet.”Out of all the movies coming out this year I think I'm most excited abut Prometheus. The heavily guarded film stars Noomi Rapice, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Ben Foster, Michael Fassbender and will hit theaters on June 8th.
