Tech: ePAWN Debuts Accessory Screen For Gamers In North America At CES 2012

New ePawn Arena Connects with Any Device or Platform To Bring Touch to Gaming

PARIS - December 5, 2011 - At CES 2012, French startup ePawn will showcase ePawn Arena, a revolutionary yet affordable 26-inch horizontal screen that interfaces with smartphones, tablets, PCs, laptops and gaming consoles to allow gamers to use real-world game pieces with their online and mobile games.

Leveraging ePawn’s patented real-time motion-tracking technology, ePawn Arena bridges real- and virtual-gaming by bringing back the simple thrill of real touch feeling. Technology-agnostic, the screen can be seamlessly and easily connected to anydevice or platform, allowing several gamers to play cooperatively or competitively at the same time.

“As the toy-game hybrid trend is gaining steam, ePawn Arena’s unique capabilities take the gaming experience to a whole new level of fun and creativity”, said Christophe Duteil, co-founder and CEO of ePawn. “Additionally, we are currently working with content providers and device manufacturers to create the best possible user experience.”

While players will be able to buy specially-designed game pieces, ePawn will also provide them with electronic chips that can be embedded into their own existing game pieces. ePawn’s software development kit (SDK) also makes it easy for game developers to integrate ePawn Arena into both new and existing games.

After making its European debut at this week’s Game Connection Europe, ePawn Arena will officially launch in North America at CES 2012. Check out how ePawn’s innovative technology is pushing the boundaries of gameplay at booth #25204 in the Gaming Showcase (South Hall 2).

ePawn Arena will be available second half of 2012 at the price point of an average video gaming console. Further pricing information will be provided at CES.
