DVD Review: The Looney Tunes Show: Season 1, Volume 2

Growing up I loved Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the gang from the Looney Tunes and watching The Looney Tunes Show: Season 1, Volume 2 on this DVD brings back a lot of fun childhood memories, to say the least.

In this new and updated incarnation we get half-hour stories unlike  the old shorts, remember those? Bugs and Daffy now live  in a neighborhood, they are driving, doing business and dealing with everyday life but with the cheesy humor to boot.  Familair neighbors pop up in the episodes, remember  Yosemite Sam, Granny, Tweety and Sylvester? Yep, they're all there plus other familiar characters as well.   The Tasmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzales, Marvin the Martian and other classic characters sing original songs in two-minute music videos called Merrie Melodies . Yep, sounds familiar doesn't it!

Also as our favorite characters all get the 21 century update so does some of the animation because we get some CG treatments as well. We get four episode included in this DVD. Each episode has "short episodes" within and it will jump on you in a second but it's not too bad.

Now, as much as the new series is lots of fun and tries hard, nothing will ever compare to the original. The characters have all undergone some small updated changes in their looks, sounds and even humor. This series tries hard and I am hooked and so should the new generation that this is aimed towards. It's definitely geared towards a younger audience. I've included a few clips from the show below so be sure to check them out.

Bottom line is if you love cartoons as much as I do and you loved the original Looney Tunes then you should definitely check out The Loony Tunes Show Season 1 Volume 2 on DVD and show the entire family.  The DVD released on December 6th and is available everywhere!  3.5/5
