I'm not a huge Sarah Jessica Parker fan so I had my doubts when I watched I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE DOES IT on Blu-ray. The good thing is it's a light-hearted comedy that paid off.
The movie follows Parker's character who is a mother that juggles her crazy and out of control career with family life. She thinks she has it all under control under her crazy system but things slowly start to fall apart. Greg Kinnear plays her husband who is way too patient and understanding. Olivia Munn gets more screen time (and deserves it) as Parker's paranoid and pregnant assistant and the films comedy relief. Pierce Brosnan plays her business partner who is a little slick, possibly with ulterior motives but in the end is a good guy who wants what's best for Parker's character. Kelsey Grammer has a few scenes as the hard nosed, all business boss who in the end shows a softer side. I liked seeing Grammer in this role!
The movie has several great comedic moments thanks to Parker's goofiness and Munn's comedic timing. Munn shows she can handle larger roles and it's time to give her an opportunity! The story is cute and is a good watch for the family, girl's night out or even date night if the guy is willing to sit through it. The supporting cast saves the day for Parker! The movie runs along nicely and isn't too long or drawn out and as always with these kind of comedies, it has a predictable happy ending.
Bottom line is I Don't Know How She Does It is a solid comedy and is a good watch! The Blu-ray drops on December 27th. 3.5/5
