Deadline reports that Elijah Wood had taken the lead role for the upcoming MANIAC remake directed by Franck Khalfoun and produced by Alexandre Aja and Gregory Lavasseur. If you've seen Maniac then you know how messed up and twisted this character is.
Synopsis:
Wood will play the role of a serial killer who works at a shop that sells antique mannequins. He finds his victims on the Internet then stalks them like prey, all the while suffering from hallucinations that throw him back into his abusive past. In his twisted mind, he gains a measure of revenge against his mother with each kill.
So, do you think Wood can pull this character off? He did a good job as Kevin in Sin City.
