First Look At Tim Burton's FRANKENWEENIE

FRANKENWEENIE has been a project long in the making for Tim Burton, he first did this as a live-action short way back in 1984 when he worked for Disney.  This new stop motion film looks all 50'ish but will also be in 3D, no surprise there huh.

Frankenweenie "tells the story of  Victor, a little boy who loves his pet dog Sparky more than anything. When Sparky  "dies" Victor decides to use his science kit to bring him back from the grave."

Vurton talks about the film and its meaningl
 “It just tries to keep that idea of a very, simple pure relationship. Mix that with the Frankenstein myth, and it causes problems. It has its good side and repercussions,” Burton says. “Ultimately, we try to go with the slightly more positive aspects of keeping that [boy-and-his-dog] relationship going.”
He then talks about the goody name and comparing it to a hot dog and the boy's relationship with his dog;
“It’s like a small pet name, a hot-dog kind of thing,  “It’s such an unconditional relationship, A lot of kids have that experience – I certainly had that experience with a first pet. You’ll probably never have it again in your life in that way, it’s so pure and memorable.”
Burton comments on his dismissal from Disney;
 “I don’t know, they got freaked out or something, but they still allowed me to make the film,” Burton says. “Even though I was frustrated about the release — or not release of it — it was still a great experience, and did a lot for me, so I couldn’t really complain.”
Burton finally comments on the look of Spary we see herein these pics;
“He doesn’t have any stitches yet, That’s only a short part of the film. Don’t get too used to that look.”
Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara and Martin Landau all lend their voices for Frankenweenie which is scheduled to release in theaters on October 5 2012.
