On the small screen, he’s starred as a series regular in Tyler Perry’s TV sitcom “Meet the Browns” on TBS, and alongside Bo Derek and Morgan Fairchild in the MyNetworkTV drama “Fashion House.” He’s also made several memorable television guest star appearances, including roles on “CSI: Miami,” “Dark Blue,” Charmed,” “Days of Our Lives,” and opposite Jimmy Smits in “Outlaw.”
Check out my latest Versus with Antonio Jaramillo to find out more about Savages, working with Oliver Stone and more.
Alien Bee- Tell me about your film Savages and the character you play.
Antonio Jaramillo- I play 'Jaime,' the trustworthy accountant and negotiator for the Mexican cartel alongside Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek and Demian Bichir in Oliver Stone's upcoming drug-smuggling drama "Savages."Alien Bee- Was it intimidating working with Oliver Stone?
Antonio Jaramillo- When I met him for the first time I felt a bit uneasy, but it was also super cool. So, I guess I didn't really give it too much thought after that initial meeting...I just came in and did my job!Alien Bee- When will Savages be released?
Antonio Jaramillo- I believe in April of 2012, but don't hold me to that.Alien Bee- What's your coolest memory while filming Savages?
Antonio Jaramillo- My coolest memory from the film has to be sharing the screen with one of my favorite actors, Benicio Del Toro! I love his work, specially on "21 Grams." Man, I love that film and hope to one day work with Director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and with Benicio again -- maybe as his younger brother since people are always telling me we look alike!Alien Bee- You've done a lot of TV too, if you could pick, which would you do,
movies or TV?
Antonio Jaramillo- I love to work...whether is TV or film. But, if I had to choose...I guess I would say film since there is more freedom to play and try different things! One week you can be a cowboy on a ranch and a few weeks later you can be playing some crooked cop somewhere. However, if the opportunity to be part of a great TV drama comes my way -- I'll take it!Alien Bee- Any other projects you can talk about?
Antonio Jaramillo- There is a psychological thriller in the works, but they are still finalizing the script so I can't talk about it yet.Alien Bee- Do you have a website or Twitter where fans can find you?
Antonio Jaramillo- My website is: www.AntonioJaramillo.comAlien Bee- Would you like to say anything to our cool readers checking this out?
Antonio Jaramillo- Thanks for the support! Keep your eyes open for "Savages" next year...it's going to be a really cool movie. And keep an eye out for me -- either in your living room or on the big screen!
