DVD Review: YOUNG JUSTICE Season 1 Volume 2

Young Justice  is definitely one of my favorite animated series  and checking out YOUNG JUSTICE Season One Volume Two on DVD was an absolute blast!  If you haven't seen this cartoon yet, what we have here are our familiar  DC Universe super heroes who take a back seat as the next generation takes front and center and with a little attitude.

Or main characters include Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis who are all going through their growing pains as they try to prove to the Justice League that they have what it takes to eventually join the ranks.

I really enjoy Superboy's character and temper the most as he tries to step out of the shadow of Superman. Yes, he has a temper and it shows sometimes!  Another character I find myself enjoying is Aqualad, as lame as that sounds he shows he is a future leader to keep an eye on. The team has its issues but always seems to come together, sometimes with the help and guidance of Batman who is head of assignments, Black Canary who is their trainer and Red Tornado who acts as the teams supervisor, even Superman shows up a time or two.

The stories in all four episodes are great, the animation is awesome as always and our characters are all fun to watch as they slowly learn the tricks of the trade, so to speak. Something else I noticed is that some of these stories follow very closely to some episodes from Smallville which  really enjoyed as I caught this. The hardcore fans will love this!

Bottom line is I highly recommend Young Justice Season One Volume Two to fans of all ages! 4/5. You can own it on DVD on October 25th.

Synopsis:

Animated DC Universe cartoon series for a new generation starring ROBIN, AQUALAD, KID FLASH, SUPERBOY, MISS MARTIAN and ARTEMIS . Combined these six teenage heroes are YOUNG JUSTICE the JUSTICE LEAGUE?s secret weapon against the forces of evil. Based out of THE CAVE, the teen heroes will take on under-the-radar missions that would be impossible for the League proper (with its incandescent star-power) to handle covertly. In addition, these kids are in constant training to take their place alongside the great heroes. RED TORNADO will be their supervisor; BLACK CANARY will be in charge of their training, and BATMAN will hand out their assignments. And of course, Young Justice will push their missions, often turning a simple assignment from Batman into something much larger, often discovering that what they?ve been tasked to do is just the tip of the iceberg.
