Blu-ray Review: X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS reimagines the beginning of the X-Men that we're familiar with in the comic book. but it still is a great watch. Director Matthew Vaughn directs this prequel that follow Charles Xavier (James McAvoy)  and Erik Lensherr  (Michael Fassbender) who meet and become friends. They locate young adults with mutant abilities who become wanted by  Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) and his small group the Hellfire Club.

We get to see how Lensherr who later becomes Magneto becomes the bad guy that we all know today and it's a story of heartache. The story is told really well with Vaughn at the helm and even X-Men and X2 director Bryan Singer is attached as producer to get this franchise back on track and it is. We watch this movie as it takes place in the 60's, it introduces us to familiar characters and a reimagined one or two as they get caught up in the Cold War which ultimately draws some of them closer and divided some who were once close.

Watching the movie on Blu-ray was awesome. The picture and sound quality was so good and it just made it for a better experience all around. The movie does run a little long but it hardly stalls at all so it really keeps your attention on the story and what's going on. The action scenes and visual effects are definite stand outs in the movie but the story is so strong it's the key element that makes this such a successful restart tot he franchise.

Bottom line is if you've enjoyed all of the X-Men movies so far then this is probably the second to the best one to me so far, running a close second to X2. X-Men: Fist Class on Blu-ray is a must have for the true fan! 4/5
