Shorts featuring Ron Perlman, Eric Stoltz and Seth Gordon to premiere on ShortsHD Channel


FIREFLY PREMIERES AWARD-WINNING SHORT FILMS 
ON SHORTSHD CHANNEL THIS MONTH 

Films feature Ron Perlman, Eric Stoltz, and director Seth Gordon 

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 9, 2011) – Throughout August, three festival-winning short films by Firefly: Theater & Films (www.fireflyinc.com) will air on ShortsHD (www.shortsHD.com), the first high definition channel dedicated to short movies.ShortsHD is available on DIRECTV (Channel 568), Dish Network (Channel 375), and AT&T U-Verse (Channel 1789). Access via iTunes will follow shortly after each premiere. The films, The Problem With Percival, The Grand Design, and No. 6, have screened at festivals around the world and feature actors Ron Perlman, Eric Stoltz, Frances Conroy, Brian Baumgartner, and directors Stoltz and Seth Gordon. 

Premiering Sunday, August 14: The Problem With Percival follows persnickety nine-year-old Percival Strum, who suffers from constant contact with his trying-to-be-helpful grandmother. With his parents away, Percival's frustrations lead him to fire his Grandma and hold auditions for a new one. A 35mm short directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) and written by Gordon and Heather Holme. A co-production with Catalyst Film Works. 

Premiering Sunday, August 21: InThe Grand Design a young poet-scientist struggles with his work - and his mother - when he is chosen to author the next spacecraft-carried "message" to alien civilizations. A 16mm short directed by Golden Globe-nominee Eric Stoltz and Neel Keller, written by Susan Miller, and starring Eric Stoltz and Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under). 

Premiering Sunday, August 28: Golden Globe-winner Ron Perlman stars in No. 6, which follows a mysterious man seeking redemption from his dangerous past through a young Ukrainian sex slave and their startling shared discovery. This 35mm short written and directed by Student Academy Award-winner Robin Larsen is a co-production with XPIX Productions and also stars Charlotte Ayanna (Training Day) and Brian Baumgartner (The Office). It is executive produced by Joe Russo (Arrested Development).
